A few years late to this discussion but I thought I'd add my experience for anyone coming here looking for info about Brimbank.

Just had my first session down there (April 2023). I fished the southeast bend (-37.7338459606189, 144.8467507774224 to -37.73225926211765, 144.8481884617592) for an hour into dusk and caught a mullet (20-25cm) and a couple of nice reddies (25-30cm).

This area was pretty treacherous, especially as it was a bit wet, so I'll try the more accessible areas next time and add an update. Might take some corn and try for a few of those carp.

Well done, but I would be highly surprised if you got a mullet that far up! Any chance it was a grayling?

I grew up fishing Brimbank park and I would say that your mullet is a roach. Plenty of them in there.
