How many times do you need to be proven statistically wrong before you stop making a fool of yourself. You've already stated you dont' care how many people die. What piece of evidence do you need to see to change your mind?
You really need to read what I wrote. What evidence do you have that going for a quiet fish down the river away from people is going to kill thousands......or even one.
It wouldn't, if it was a quiet fish by yourself.

But if you allow that you'll also be allowing people to driving all over the state to their favourite fishing spot every weekend, standing shoulder to shoulder on piers and generally taking the ****. You get more trips to the shops, more trips to buy fuel and so on, the exact thing they're trying to avoid. The whole point of the lockdown was to reduce travel as much as humanly possible so a localised infection would stay that way and not get spread to every petrol station toilet between Melbourne and Portland because the barrels are on.
All that applies to surfing for example.....something the Vic govt flipped on and allows, same with kayaking. And of course all that doesn't seem to have had any negative outcomes in other states either, where fishing and hunting is allowed. Just requires you practice physical distancing and stay reasonably local.
Yeah, it was inconsistent, it was rushed and it wasn't perfect. That's what happens when you've got a pandemic with a 3 day doubling time about to run wild through the state.

But the only thing worse would be if they came back after their initial statement and chopped and changed the rules, added caveats and conditions and so on. That would just confuse people and make the situation worse. The rules weren't perfect but we should all be glad they erred on the side of caution.

And as I've said, if a month and a half without fishing is the worst thing that happens to you this year you've done a hell of a lot better than a lot of other people.

You know one thing i learnt 40 odd years ago, while i was a commercial fisherman. When things get tough and you just wish you could stop and go home to a nice warm house and a comfy bed. You can't, You have to hunch the shoulders, suck it up and just keep pushing through. Every time you have a set back you just take a deep breath and start again. You don't go home with a load of fish unless you keep fishing till you have a load.
This is no different, if we quit before it is over we will be defeated.
I was also taught that way , , , , to roll up my sleeves

Cheers, Bugs

Still the Trump Derangement Syndrome Dougie....who cares about Trump? Given the fairly serious resources allocated to contact tracing, it should be reasonably easy to show infections that are traced back to a fisherman on a river by himself......of course that's assuming these infections exist in that scenario.
Still changing the subject instead of answering the question. Classic Trumpjumper. I believe this started about 3 weeks ago when I asked you how many people needed to die in order for you to take this seriously. We last engaged on that level at 58,000 and your words were 'WHO CARES FFS" so i'll ask you again.

What piece of evidence do you need to see to change your mind?

The Austerity measures during WWII lasted for years and years
And yet, parliament sat and people weren't under house arrest.

Who's under house arrest ? These are restrictions not a total lock-down. Similar to some of those during WWII, curfews etc etc

Not sure you are using the term "house arrest" correctly , , , , and if you are , , , , my suggestion is, next time, get a better Lawyer

It didn't appear on ScoMo's 3 point plan so I'm assuming never

I don't care that you want to find the most spectacular death tally to try and fit it to what's going on here. It's called disaster porn, the media are all over it. By the way, you just ducked my question above and then crap on about US death figures. Why don't you compare Aus to Taiwan? Same population, different approach and better result.

yep i didnt hear fishing, but swimming and few others were mentioned.
even if scomo allowed it, andrews is another hurdle.
if he doesnt allow it after the 11th, i recon there will be people going anyway.
