E'mail our PM & say NO to Marine Parks
It has been rumoured that legislation is being passed quickly that will have a further impact on us rec fishermen , With new legislation , endeavours are being made to make more No fishing zones under the IUCN11 listing . This listing is scary as beaches , estuaries , lakes etc that are part of a national parks can now be deemed Marine parks & places like the Mornington back beaches , Ocean Rd can be made No rec fishing zones & we get locked out .
So since a election is around the corner , E'mail our PM "Julia Gillard" say "NO" to marine parks .

Anglers of Australia Call to arms
Recreational anglers of Australia need to make it nice and clear to any future government and politician, exactly what will happen if you unfairly attack us and attempt to con us and the public on something we depend on our marine environment, the way to do that is to concentrate our resources on selected marginal seats and make a very load example.
We are putting out a call for any anglers in the electorates of Lyne (NSW), La Trobe (Vic) and Corangamite (Vic)
The links to the maps of these seats ...

Independents abandon anglers
05 Jun 2013
By Fisho staff writers
THE key federal independents this week sided with Labor and the Greens to lock Australia's five million anglers out of iconic fishing areas.
Despite furious lobbying efforts by rec fishing groups, Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott voted against the marine park disallowance in Parliament on Tuesday night. The final vote was 71-70.
But the lock-outs remain far from certain. In a move which has infuriated Greens and other anti-fishing groups, the Opposition has pledged to reverse the angling bans if it wins power at the September 14 election.
Australian Recreational Fishing Foundation MD Allan Hansard said it was disappointing the disallowance failed but was adamant the fight over fishing access was not finished.
"We've now got a great deal of work to do before the election," Hansard told Fisho today.
"We need to ensure the Opposition keeps focused on getting the bans wound back and we need to make the Government and independents aware that we are displeased with their anti-fishing stance."
Fisho understands angling organisations are now planning a series of high profile campaigns in key marginal seats.
"The organisational changes that have occurred due to the marine parks campaigns over the past few years have seen the angling sector evolve into a potent political force," one leading fishing identity said today.
"We are now going to direct all our energy and resources to influencing the outcome of the federal poll. The fight has only just started. I hope the Government realises they have awoken a sleeping giant."
Recent polls indicate federal Labor is facing an electoral wipeout on September 14. Green groups have already started lobbying the Coalition to move away from its promise to reverse the fishing bans.

Re: E'mail our PM & Say no to Marine Parks
The government is just really really out of touch...... and it shows on the polls....the liberal party doesnt really need to do anything really, they just sit there and watch the labor party implode with Gillard at the helm....dont really know though if liberal would be any better, my intuition tells me they are just telling the public what we want to hear but i hope not... its a pitty....one of the worst political situations Australia has been in, in recent times.MIKER wrote:The Fishing & Shooting party always gets my vote :victory: , i also emailed our so called leaders  to say No to Marine parks & No to No fish Zones .sasquatch972 wrote:just emailed gillard to politlely let her know what i think about all this lol
