I saw this article too kaotay.kaotay wrote:Update:

when the news of disapperance came out, I felt sorry for this diver. Now it turned out like that, to tell you the truth I want to laugh though I shouldn't.
30kg abalone strapped on him. I can only suspect he was also wearing lead weights..... wrong move or plain greed?
OF ALL THE THINGS I LOST, I MISS MY MIND THE MOST.

Shallow water, 50m from the beach and 30kgs of abbs. Something doesn't smell right to me.
Regular diver (assuming regular poacher) no way would someone not see him with 30kg of abbs off Brighton.....

I was thinking the other day why would he be out diving alone, seems like a not very smart move...this explains why.

Re: Father-of-three missing after scuba diving in Brighton
The 30kg of Abalone found does put an awkward twist to the story.
Nobody deserves to die in our waters, however if the story is true, maybe the ocean took out some form of karmic revenge.
Many things can go wrong whilst diving. I once had cramps in my calves and boy I tell you it was lucky I was close to shore and had a friend with me! Very painful and could have been in serious strife if I was further out from shore.
The coroners report will be interesting.

It's not usually associated with scuba though, is it. It's more a free diving issue.
