I bought off ebay a reel spooler but it wouldnt do large spools then it came to me in a flash I use a paint roller remove the fleece roller put the line spool where the fleece roller would have been slip on the plastic end cap apply tension with a clamp put the paint roller handle in a vice. Then using the rod tie the line on the reel and wind away just like catching a gish line on the reel under tension does a great job will post some pictures tomorrow.

Here's one i made a few years back that i just put in the vice.I just put the spool of line in & pre-load it by doing up the T-handle untill the spring put's the right pressure on so it goes on the reel nice & neat.

I built something similar. Works perfectly for light and medium gear but with 37kg I have to stop regularly as the plastic spool gets too hot and starts to melt.

They certainly beat my option of floating the spool in a bucket of warm water and reeling it on the reel.
Might have to get into the shed this weekend and see what I can knock up

These things are great, smooth as silk. Frank has put a lot of time and effort into making a bullet proof spooler.

I'll bring mine to the Bonnie Doon meet, so you can have a look and feel if you like.
