Will this make me a better angler for $40 ?

Post by hornet » Mon Dec 21, 2015 8:44 am

Hi guy's, has anyone had anything to do with this gadget ? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171728928141 ... EBIDX%3AIT

I've been thinking of keeping one of these permanently in my tackle bag and change the ordinates accordingly depending what area I'm fishing in...

Put it this way it can't hurt. I think it would be beneficial for chasing Mulloway

Probably would give you a better reading based on where you are. However if you drive and get to a location and the pressure and tide is bad are you still going to fish? You probably would have already done all your prep. The one thing I can see that would be useful is if you keep a fishing diary and you are in the middle of a hot bite it will give you a more accurate view of the tide and pressure for future sessions.

As mentioned earlier it can't hurt to try, if it doesn't work it will make a nice sinker, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

It doesn't do anything your mobile won't already do.

I'd only consider one if

A) I'm keeping a diary and want to record exact conditions at the time of capture
B) I'm spoilt for fishing time and can afford to pick and choose around "ideal" barometric pressures.
C) Fishing an area without mobile phone reception so I can't lookup any baro readings.

But considering I don't keep a diary and the only weather I look at for a session is wind I wouldn't bother. A casio tidemaster with inbuilt GPS would be good though.

I pulled the trigger on this ! Why not I thought ? it's just the cost of bait for a weekends fishing for me or less than two packets of smokes if you look at it that way, I'm a tech head anyway, always on the look out for new gadgets so anything to improve filling my bag is a good thing, I'll start a log book and review my catch rates a year from now...
