Funny- exact same thing happened to me and wasn't real thrilled after 5 minutes of use with a brand new reel I was relying on.

On a trio?

The line roller end of the bail arm isn't actually connected, it's just sitting in there.

Ridiculous design. Alan Hawk's head would explode.

brand new raider rod

don't aim too close to bridges

Dodgy design

i've also had multiple snaps open, snapped a knife blade, broken about three rod holders and bent the hell out of a cheap net lifting an eagle ray

I had an Okuma arm almost break on me in Bermagui this summer, thankfully it held on, but could not trust it any longer.. So had to upgrade
My cheap mates who have no gear can now use the Okuma :P

Basti. That last image of yours does my nut in. I have 5 cheaper Shimano reels that have the exact bail arm. Have cut my line on a few occasions as a result. Shotty design and shittier manufacturing leaving sharp edges.
