Post by smile0784 » Mon May 15, 2017 8:35 am

Will looking to expand my lure collection just been thinking about teasers.
I have heard of the witch doctor is out there also daisy chains.

But are they essential peice of game equipment and what others do people use?

When I made regular trips to NSW we trolled a beer can off each corner rear of the boat with holes in the bottom to create a bubble trail.

Nude up uses a teaser I'm sure he will have some input to this thread..
He who has the most fishing rods WINS ! :ts:

When trolling lures we always use a witchdoctor and if its slow we chuck out a surface teaser. The witchdoctor or zacatac the wooden ones are great trolled about 10 mt behind the boat the flash from the mirrors looks like a school of bait fish. Imo do not buy the latest witchdoctor injected moulding recessed mirrors. We lost a witchdoctor one year and I bought one to replace it cost $200 absolute rubbish kept pulling to one side. Sits in the shed my wooden one is much better.
The surface ones I have a bowling pin with reflective squid floats I also have a bird wth rubber squid I have a spreader bar with squid . I have just recently bought some 9 inch rubber squid to make some surface teasers for switch baiting I have used my mates previously but the next bermie trip is expanding we are taking 2 boats.
If you want me to take photos let me know. I use my witchdoctor the most even for kingfish I would not go out without it

I made our witchy from some sizes I found online.
90 x 45 merbau, drilled out under the nose and filled with lead, some mirror staino plates as a freeby from a work contact.
Tried it out for the first time at the weekend, swims like a mad thing lol..very happy with it.
I particularly like the fact it doubles as a priest 'cos it's so solid.

I have never seen one in operation but at $45 it's worth a go when I first started fishing for marlin we went to bermie and spent time with my mates uncle on his boat he is an ex gfaa president and he took us in bermie bait and tackle and said you need one of these and pointed to the witchdoctor. You can make your own as Carl has and I make my own as well. Escapintackle make one called stick face stalker but it is not as good

I always use a teaser. I really think they work to bring fish up. I've got a spreader bar type and daisy chain type. I made them both myself. The spreader bar has the vinyl skirts from 10inch to 12inch and i made the daisy chain out of normal skirted lures i didn't use much, all around 8-10inch.

Ill get some pictures up if i want to have a look.

Cheer, Anth
