I have the afn sun smart or something similar fingerless gloves rated to upf50.
They do the job for me. I usually only use them when I'm out jigging and stuff like that which require a bit of heavy work. The usual lure fishing i don't use gloves anymore

Re: Fishing Gloves - Boat
I use the Seak Kayak gloves from anaconda. they were $20. i got the cut off ones. They stay warm when wet and have heaps of grip on the palms. They are also really comfy. I only use them when i go trout fishing in the winter and its really cold.

Cheers guys, think I will look into a cheap pair from either bunnings or anaconda as they are going to get covered in bait and blood either way!

I have two pairs; one for summer - Sun Protection Australia SPF 50 and the Shimano Ocea for this time of the year.
TW has the Ocea's on-line for $32 at the moment but you need to be careful of the size. I don't have big hands but I had to get XL size.
I would suggest the L would only be suitable for females.

I guess like most things - you get what you pay for....But some prices can be ridiculous and not have the quality.... The Aftco ones are awesome and I have a pair. They are for handling heavy leaders on heavy fish to prevent the leaders from cutting into your hands and avoid abrasion from the fish - but they cost more than their weight in gold I reckon.rb85 wrote:Does the shimano name tag justify the cost?
