Squid Gaff help

Post by hornet » Fri Sep 21, 2018 10:02 am

Does anyone own a squid gaff or used one ? I'm after recommendations on what make / model / length you guys are using.

I'm thinking of ditching my net for a more mobile solution to move around more hunting squid.

All activity's Land based.

THX !

You can DIY it. Just grab a cheap telescopic rod off ebay and stick a squid prong to the end of it.

Maybe I could make one up, but time is limited for me I'd rather buy one and just go squidding.

I looked on Ebay and found two that were reasonably priced, not sure about the quality ? the rest I found overseas were ridiculously priced.

I would still like hands on users to comment, there must be more people using nets like me than Gaff's ?

Ever thought of making a hand line from 8mm rope with a squid jig pole (for rigging Whiting) and putting a big snap on it and just hooking the snap around your main line and send it down to hook on your squid and pull them up
