Testing the rigs

Post by Wolly Bugger » Thu Mar 07, 2019 2:09 pm

Started rigging the lures that were recommended that I give a try.

After crimping got out the rod and reel, but couldn't find the scales anywhere so they will turn up when I least need them, like the other day when I moved them from one spot to another.

The testing procedure is using a ECOODA Hornet PE 3-4 Max jig 200g and max drag 14 kg.
The reel Shimano Sorocco SW 8000 cant remember the breaking strain of the braid either 60 or 80 lb. The leader tied on with a slim beauty, (not really my favourite knot)

Put the hook onto an unmovable object, walk back 15 metres and lock down the drag and wind until the rod is in a U shape, only had one failure so far that sat me on my arse. :o_0:

Re-crimped and this time it past.

Oh the trace for the lures is 60 lb.

The way I figure it is that it is better for it to fail now, rather than when I have a fish of a lifetime on it.

Next week the 4WD is getting a set of treads, the boat is getting a service and then watch out here I come. Probably eating donuts for the rest of the year.

Had a second failure, this time I remained up standing.
