Re: Scotty Kayak Stabilizers
not really a great idea on anything but flat water - maybe good if you need to stand but they create more drag - are less stable in bad weather
how can that be adding more primary stability to the kayak will wont it to stay flat to the water - try that side ways on a wave now the kayak will try to tip you out as flat to the water could be quite an angle
the next problem can you put it back the right way if you do tip it over the out riggers will make that harder to do
strange how a narrow long kayak becomes more stable as the seas get worse - less primary stability lets you keep the kayak upright side on to wave
just my thoughts on them - Ok on flat water if you dont need to travel distance and you need to stand - bad idea if you need to cover distance , need to move fast , are not going to be caught in bad weather , have no tide flows or most of the other variables that the bays kick up

I guess its good for lakes and slow moving rivers.
Standing up means I can pee without having to go ashore!

Re: Scotty Kayak Stabilizers
Drive well? I assume you have a hobbie with foot paddle drive thing.
Unfortunately I don't own a hobbie. Mine is hand paddle.
It's a good topic to discuss. How do you y'all kayak fishos pee?

Re: Scotty Kayak Stabilizers
Sitting down. Try this on a stealth kayak off shore in big seas it can be done and has to be done at times o won’t paddle back to shore for a pee that could be well over an hour of hard paddling Much easier to pee and stay on the fish

Re: Scotty Kayak Stabilizers
Think they look a little gimmicky and as cheater mentioned creates other hazards wouldn’t bother personally.
As for urinating on the water I just stand up and go.

On the stealth I move back so I’m sitting on the back rim of the cockpit, then I **** into one of those sports drink bottles with the really wide cap.cheaterparts wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 8:53 amSitting down. The bottle approach it was for a long time . but now Ive gotten confident enough to stand on my kayak, I shall be spraying the world on two feet.
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.
