Its good to have more than 1 spot as well. Maybe not even too far.. pt leo is a good spot as well as balnarring.
i was thinking if i changed id move down blanarring beach and find a good area on maps, seen a few. ill be down that way for 3 nights next week

Balnarring isn't far from Somers, with very similar bottom and conditions. Fish anywhere from the yacht club pier around towards Somers for about 250m, after that it starts to get weedy.

Both areas are known for the prolific capture of gummies, it comes down to right place right time. You can get a fish a night several nights in a row, or you can go fishless for a month. That's the beauty of fishing those areas.

Is this 30% strike rate for just Land Based or Boat also??

Have to be landbased. Boat based my success rate almost 100%.

Think it must be as my success rate would be similar to frozenpods they aren't tough to catch. Targeting Bigger models can occasionally draw a doughnut but you still normally pick up a good eater.

Somers is a proven spot.

I would be inclined to fish it very regularly until you know it inside out.

Try lots of variations of bait, moon phases, tides and winds. You mentioned that you normally fish the low to the high. It may be worthwhile doing the opposite, from the high to the low.

By trying different things you will build up the complete picture.

Above all, persevere.

Good luck.

Just a quick one, may sound silly but always wondered. Does rain fall have an effect on gummies land based? Cheers

Yup, I'd put our boat based gummy fishing at over 85%. Went over to Corinella last week looking for snaps, no luck on the reds, but boated 5 gummies between 2 of us.
