Drama this mornin

Post by denis barden » Tue Feb 19, 2019 9:37 am

Out at 0330 after Ting wind 20 knots Westerly side on and dark as
Put 3 rods out -1 goes off I try to get the monster in but after 10 mins it breaks the line -Oh well, then the other 2 rods go off I grab one and 15 mins later a Gummie appears -Ive snaged the original line.
Try to get him into a net but he jumps out 3 times and busts the handle on the net ,I grab another net and that tangles the 2 sinkers on the line thats on the GummieI,I grab a knife and cut part of my net its free -While this is happening he swims around and tangles the berley pot rope
Anyway I get him into the boat at the back then after 10 mins I get him out of the net and he went crazy and jumped from the back seat to the stern and he was half overboard , his head into the water I grabbed him with both hands and pulled him back in
He went 10 kgs and 1280 long
Not too bad for 8 lb mono on a Nibble tip Whiting Rod
