Despite the fact I live about 4 km's from the event, I will be giving it a miss! Not a fan of the crowds myself. Who is going?
cheers

May go and catch a fish on the night instead!

I'll be give it a miss, been to one before and it's all about marketing, same as all fishing shows.

Re: Trelly's Tackle Spectacular Shepparton
Matari and myself headed up for this and met up with Dave on the way.
I found it to be a pretty good evening, no pushy marketing, everyone was friendly and any questions you had got answered.
It was especially enlightening to talk to Rod about a spot we go to fairly often and find out he has fished the same spot, pulling out a 90cm and 120cm cod on surface, which has made us even more keen to hit the area for another fish.
There were a few bargains also a few slightly discounted items. I had already decided to get another cod raider, if they had them for $100 or less and they did, so I got one. Also picked up a couple of codger surface lures and a couple of koolabung surface lures.
Matari got a codger surface lure, then got a bassman spinnerbait as a freebie.
So for $10 each as entry to the door and also an entry into the raffles at the end of the night wasn't to bad for what I think we have taken away from the evening.
The highlight for me was that my ticket was drawn out at the end of the night and I won a Venom Cod Monster/Combat plus, rod & reel combo, identical to what Codmac uses. Valued at $840. :a_goodjob:
And just to annoy Matari(as he usually wins the prizes) I asked him to go and get Rod to sign the rod :Boxing:
I need all the help I can get to catch fish, so figured it couldn't hurt.
Thanks to Dave for the patch of grass and lend of the tent, see you again for the Codference.

Re: Trelly's Tackle Spectacular Shepparton
Nice win Brett! The Raider rod you purchased...is it identical to the one you already have?
My night was not so successful. I decided to leave work and pop into Trellys store on the way home. Previously they have been open whilst the event is held at the showgrounds and there are a couple staff in there with minimal customers and lots of vacant floor space. Not this year...they were closed cos they knew I was coming!
Cheers

Willing to sign rod handles at the next cod trip!

Thanks Boony, was certainly a surprise to win something that's for sure.
It's slightly different to my other one Jim, it's rated 6 to 12kg, where as the other one is rated 6 to 10kg, apart from that pretty much the same.April Fool wrote:Nice win Brett! The Raider rod you purchased...is it identical to the one you already have?
