Why so many sales are they closing down?
Probably struggling to clear it given the retail sector is cooked.

Even if they sell for 50% they still make a profut
Depends on what it is. Cheap stuff has high margins but high end gear might only have a 5-10% margin.

Retail and the economy is struggling. there will be more sales coming id say. have the tax returns ready if you haven't already spent it.

Not sure, I notice their stock is diminishing and has not restocked.
Would have more to do with the slow winter season and the impending AFTA trade show with its associated new stuff and bulk buy specials than anything else.

As the drunk one said, high markup figures are usually on things like hooks etc. Most $100+ rods and reels struggle to hit 20% markup

had a feeling the AFTA had something to do with it. same with the BCF sales, all the older stock has to be moved on for the newer release.

So I went there and bought Abu Garcia Veritas rod 6105 1-3kg $119.
Says 5 piece (shorter pieces), but it's a 3 piece. The guy said probably a typo.
I got home and googled it and found out that its 3 piece with extra mid and tip pieces. Sorta changeable from light to ultra light rod class.

Gonna have to go back there tomorrow asking for the other two pieces.
