Ok ... Ok... You twisted my arm.

The secret is to ask the young bloke - Steve is his name I think.

That's just between me and you though ;)

I got a bunch of $12.80 junker light shimano rods. Dont look that amazing, but for the price, will do the job when people come out on the boat.

TBH I am pretty happy with them for what I paid.

Even if its sligtly more expensive, i highly recommend that we continue to purchase from Bricks and motor stores as apart from supporting the local community etc, its really for your own benefit.

Try returning a broken rod\item to a seller\company online! The heartache alone will be greater than if you would have purchased it from a local store which you can simply walk into, hand over the item and have it sent for repair.

When the price is double or substantially more, then, have no choice but to purchase it online and take the risk.

Again, it depends on the item, consumables are one thing, but a rod\reel etc is different again.

Rogue bricks and mortar stores are there worst enemy IMO. There greatest advantage they have over online stores is CUSTOMERS SERVICE. Unfortunately a trend of late seems to be customer service has been thrown out with last weeks rubbish so to speak. There is no reason to not have it, it's basic 101 about the retail game.
There greatest weapon is quickly becoming their biggest hindrance.

Note: this comment isn't related exclusively to CA stores but retail stores in general.
