I got my weirdest catch on the Brighton breakwall last night.

I was fishing back towards the boats, and my bomb sinker got snagged on something. Kinda felt like it was jerking around, like a fish, but it also kinda felt like it was just dragging weed. I reeled it in and my sinker had gotten tangled in braid. I pulled in about 20 metres of this braid to discover two hooks...

One with a 28cm bream flapping around on the end of it!

I probably don't have the experience, technique or gear to catch a cunning fish like a bream at this point, so I'm stoked!

Brilliant! I've caught lots of line with hooks, but never with a fish attached :)

That beam was lucky you snagged the line. Whether you c&r or kept it, is better than eating away on a hook. Well done

Hah, yeah, I don't know how lucky that bream felt while I was eating it, but I guess the quick end of a knife through the gills is better than slowly starving. the trick now is to catch another one the same way

Haven't tried yet myself.. But the wind just whipped up the chop a bit so not ideal (for squid anyway)

Beautiful conditions FC no doubt one or two juicy reds will be caught with those conditions
