I usually see guys fishing for gars at the start of the breakwall.

Poodoo and myself went to Brighton Pier last night for a couple of hours. Perfect night despite being cold. We both flicked for squid near the bend on the breakwall and ended up with a big doughnut each!
There were a few people out but the squid were few and far between...One guy did manage 2 near where we were fishing.

High tide around midnight.. westerly around 8 -15knts

I was there I think it was 5 days ago now. Can't remember exactly what time it was but it was after 10 pm. The first section up to the bend was quite packed. We walked all the way around to the back. Was plenty of casting room back there though.
