Nice report mate. Where did you try for the squid? I usually get them off the rocks around the bend.

Before the rockwall, I saw fresh squid marks. The rockwall was fenced off and a lot of people at that end.
Water was a bit dirty, I reckon that's why it was hard. Didn't see anyone catching anything.

Brighton pier 5/5/2019
Wife had to work, so I went fishing to Brighton pier. Wind was predicted 18 kmh sw, but I reckon it was blowing 25 kmh.

Time : 1 PM - 5 PM
Hight tide : 3:45 PM
Weather : cloudy 17 degrees 25 kmh sw wind
Moon : 1% after new moon
Barometer : 1023 and dropping
Bait/lure/rig : various squid jigs, pipis on paternoster rig 1/0 KL with beads and tube
Rod and reel : Shimano raider 2-4 kg with stradic fk 8lb braid 10 lb fluorocarbon leader for squid jigs. Daiwa Tierra 2-8lb nibble tip rod 10 lb fluorocarbon for whitings on bait

Water was a bit discoloured. No bite til around 3 PM. Few nibbles here and there. No squid. 6x puffs and 1x very small kgw.
yeah it was quiet i fish for a couple of hour,s left about 1.30 pm was using pipis & cuttlefish for bait just to past some time before the footy started on tv talked to the fisheries lady she said the rockwall part would be closed for approx 2 week,s .Would have been a good day for gar,s with them condition,s

Solid work
When were you there and which part of the pier where you fishing? I was there today too but I didn't get a touch using silverfish. Used storebought burley as well cos I ran out of time to make my own mix.

Cheers for the tips, I think i'll head out again on tuesday with some different stuff and have a go. I was also there during the evening and since I forgot to bring a head torch it made it pretty hard.
