Great dinner there dazz. Nothing beats winter Gar, the summer ones seem random in size and not as well conditioned , , , , unless that is only in SA.

And the "new" burley mix , , , , gotta love those recipes and yep, gents all the way. Out does anything else.

Solid work
When were you there and which part of the pier where you fishing? I was there today too but I didn't get a touch using silverfish. Used storebought burley as well cos I ran out of time to make my own mix.
11am to 3pm left side of pier only got one on silverfish maggot,s were the go today.Remember it,s not just bait and berley hook size ,type of float and leader
Totally agree, it is a symphony of all aspects, a real art form , , , ,

Gar usually loves calm days, be hard to catch them in strong wind.
Clean/dirty/discoloured water is different everyday. Depends on wind rain etc.
Port melb is affected by the flush from yarra river.
If you eat once in a while dont think you'll get sick straight away. I've had Docklands bream and I'm still alive. But definitely not going to eat Docklands bream everyday!
Well, I dont think I can catch bream everyday anyway, lol.

Thanks!! It would be nice to keep some fish for a feed since i don't really like keeping fish from the city that much. Do the squid bit there during the day or is night best?
