Post by robbieD » Wed Jan 23, 2013 7:07 pm

Hello all,

Am off to Brighton pier for the first time either tommorow or Friday morning. Would just like to know what type of fish could I target and what kind of setup/baits would you recommend, thanks in advance :D

hopefully the first of the pinkies have properly arrived so they should keep you pretty busy.. just a simple paternoster rig and pilchards will do fine for bait.. ill be heading that way this weekend so be sure to leave a report

Hi Robbie, welcome to the site. Milk mans advice is pretty much spot on, keep it simple. If you want a second choice as bait try calamari cut in strips. For the pinkys i normally use size 2 and 1/0 hooks. Depending on how strong the wind is i either use 8 foot or 12 foot rods. Good luck..
