great pinkie mate!
ive found that dusk fall has been working best and a few people have told me they are struggling in the morning's
try fishing from one of the rocks that go out from brighton at the end of south road. i fish from there often.
At around 5:30-7 your bound to catch a few but they are still fairly small im averaging 1/15 is over 28cm.
Good Luck!!

cheers JG :nicefish:

For me early morning even if its still dark is the best. Rya last year we would start fishing for them in the dark and by 8.00 am had our bags.

Re: Bait/rig advice for the Brighton area?

If using a Paternoster Rig how would you set the bait up to avoiding getting snagged ?. Would a oval/ball sinker be the right choice instead of a star sinker also to minimise the snag rate ?.

I've been snagged a lot around rocky/breakwall areas, not fun at all !.

If fishing Brighton there aren't too many snags there unless your fishing the bend of the pier. Star sinker or bomb sinker is fine

:welcome: to the site Phil. Joey advice is spot on and if you google the baits he mentioned you should have an idea of what to use. Good luck when you come down unless your hear to see the Ashes then you might wanna stay home
