Chased some squid there yesterday evening, but no luck. Saw somebody else land one about 20 metres from where I was standing. He reeled it in so fast that the damned thing was almost planing across the top of the water! Geez, that howling northerly wind was pretty fresh as well.

That's basically why I left. Could barely feel my hands after a while, and thought I was at risk of dropping my Daiwa Emeraldas rod into the water which wouldn't have been ideal!

Brighton - Squid

Post by poodoo » Wed Aug 21, 2013 4:02 pm

Caught up with another forum member last week and had a quick fish at brighton. I have fished there a couple of times and have not had too much success on the squid.

2nd cast in, got a squid :woohoo: , spent the next hour and half trying to dodge the ducklings and the rubbish in the water :bat: after a big blow. The other forum member caught one a little later on. Generally it was a quiet night, there were plenty of pinkies being pulled in.

Interesting you say that the pinkies are around
