Fishing around the Aquaculture lease.

Post by SteveoTheTiger » Wed May 22, 2019 5:55 pm

This is not a fishing report.

Yesterday, while fishing in the Beaumaris/Mentone area i decided to check out the aquaculture reserve with the sidescan. I picked up some structure on the bottom that looked like posts with wires or ropes in between them kind of like a suspension bridge. I also picked up some pretty decent marks on the fish finder.

A quick search of the fisheries website shows that these leases are out of bounds as far as fishing goes, but does anyone ever anchor up current and burley up?

I have never heard of anyone doing this so maybe it is a waste of time.
The only thing better than serenity is a two stroke at full throttle!

I have seen people fishing next to the one at Safety Beach a lot, never seen anyone right in the floats though. If you hooked anything decent you'd end up getting tangled anyway. Sitting down current and letting burley drift through it should be fine though.

Fishing there can be very good, if they happen to also be collecting the mussels at the same time.
