Looking for squid

Hi,
First time thinking of launching at Black Rock from a kayak. I'm not too sure where I should be fishing to find the squid. I know I should be ontop of grassy areas. Looking at google maps, should I be fishing around the pier towards the Cerberus? Or go further pass the Cerberus? Or try east? Or just straight down towards Rickkets Point?

Thanks, any tip would be much appreciated! :)

Sam

Maybe look for some broken ground and just drift over it, that whole area is reefy and grassy. Sorry, just realised you went yesterday

A lot of broken weedy ground between Rickets and half moon. Anywhere there should hold squid.

I'm keen to go yak squidding that area - just waiting for a warm day.

Ground looks promising, I reckon you'd get some there.
Couldn't hurt drifting a plastic too for some flatties.

Oh Sneaky1 (and also Seniorfisho), I actually havent gone yet. It will be in the next few weeks once I get the chance. Ill make sure to report back to this thread. I have caught squid launching off ricketts in the past but just never been to black rock.

I've bagged out a few times going back and forth over this bit of structure. And the whole area from Table rock point to Ricketts holds plenty of squid. As usual dawn and dusk are best times to try.

Would you park at the trailer car park? Wonder if it's free for non-trailers without Kingston permit?
I usually launch elsewhere but curious about this option.
