Maribyrnong Green Tinge ?

Post by Fish-Hunter » Wed Nov 11, 2015 11:17 pm

I checked out the Maribyrnong river the other day, flicked some SP's for Bream. I noticed the lower sections from Langs rd to all the way were it meets the Yarra, it has a green tinge & the rocks under the water line along the river, now have got a slimy green growth, like a algea bloom, that wasn't there 2 weeks ago, Hot weather & lack of rain, is taking a toll ?

The lack of spring rain + the slight green algea bloom will possibly affect Bream spawning. Anyone also notice this ?

I haven't seen it, but sounds like it needs a good flush to clean it up, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

^^
Agree, consistant rain fall just hasn't happened this year & the river certainly needs a good flush out from decent rain fall.
