First trip to the Maribyrnong

Well first trip to the Nong was......interesting.
Started in Edgewater and within 30 seconds of my first baits , worms, hitting the water something hit the rod like a freight train and started taking line. I finally stopped it taking line, 10 seconds of fight and the line found it's breaking strain frown emoticon . No idea what it was but was hoping it was a good sign. Unfortunately it was not the case. after an 1 and half hours, and 3 spots round the lake with zero bites I decide to head out to the river.
After nearly two hours on the river, and 4 different spots all I managed was 7 little bait stealing gudgeons.
On the upside no one else seemed to be catching anything.
Tomorrow I might switch it up and see how the trout are biting up in Warburton.

That's fishin brig I don't catch big and good fish a lot of times its hard for landbased fishos nice gugeon catch though.

Mate caught 4 trout today around dee road near millgrove today on worms and 1 on a red and black celta. Might be worth a look pal. Some nice looking water around there and the river is at perfect levels. They fished between 7am and 11am.

Yes even catching nothing but Gudgeons, at least means it was not a trip for donuts
Hopefully chasing trout tomorrow will prove luckier - might start in Millgrove and work my way along the hwy where there is river access.

You should have hooked one of those Gudgeon and used it as a live bait for Mulloway, thats a good size Gudgy.
There ae some nice Pinkies around Edgewater ATM, and that is what might taken your worms.
I am going to give you a super tip for fishing the area ATM and that is to get yourself some Banana prawns from safeway
and you will catch Pinkies in the Nong.

I understand your thinking, and you are correct, however, Banana prawns in the Nong will out fish any other bait for targeting Pinkies specifically.
There are some good pinkies in the system ATM :thumbsup:
