why so shy

Post by barwonboy » Sun Jun 18, 2017 11:35 am

Hey guys I've got some Questions fir bream fishing at docklands, I've gone targeting them 5 times for 7 hours each trip and I've only hooked one. My main question is, why are they so shy, I've tried everything I could think of. I've tried super light line (around 1-2 kilo range). I've tried soft plastics of different shapes colours and sizes. I've tried using bait both suspended off the bottoms and on the bottom, the baits I've trained are local muscles, pipis, chicken, prawn, pilchard, bread, squid and oysters. I've also tried blades and hard bodied lures.

Anyway I'm just wondering why they are so timid and what I should do to increase my chances of catching some docklands bream

Fish after dark. Or be really sneaky. Cant even let them see your shadow. Keep moving around. You'll work it out one day

If they see you its game over.
Use an unweighted peeled prawn and let it drift down to where they are.

when i was i kid i used to fish around the jetties and moored boats at paynsville and newlands arm. only way to get them was unweighted sand worm. we would spot the fish then flick the bait towards the boat and let it slowly drift under the boat. also some times we would drop our baits theough the gaps in the jetty planks and pull them up then reach around the side and grab them. not very sporty i know but we were 12 or so and it got us a feed.
