Maribyrong yesterday 1st Dec

Post by ChrisD » Sun Dec 02, 2018 7:52 am

It may be a pain of a drive over to the Maribyrong from Croydon... And the heat and wind were horrible yesterday.... But when the Bream start biting it is all worth it
End up with these two 30+cm bream for the evening.
Caught on bait. I did take some SPs and cranka crabs and had every intention of throwing them....but after talking to a few others along the river who were having zero luck with lures decided to stick with bait....seems I made the right call.

Nice fish Chris. As you obviously want to give lures a go, is it possible to have a bait rod in and throw some lures alongside the bait rod?
Cheers
Jim

The thougyt of one bait rod and one lure rod has crossed my mind a few times.....and I have even given it a crack.
but once the bites in bait start i can't help myself and end up back to two bait rods.
I even tried only taking SPs one time, after just over an hour with zero luck......i turned over some rock, found some worms and baited a jig head. ..... which worked surprising well.
i have the patience to wait and watch a biat rod.....but throw lures round for much more than an hour without luck......and it is back to bait I go.
same happens when i chase redfin and trout
