A quick recap of a recent trip chasing Bream..
Had a lovely session of around 30 fish in 2 days, all nice and plump and easily weighing a kilo each, most taken on blades and plastics.
Plenty of screaming runs and a few good roastings were had, but that’s part and parcel of fishing snags on 4lb line. make a mistake and its game over, no amount of fancy rod work or palm spooling was going to save you..
The weather was magnificent with the winter sun warming us up in an otherwise very cold day, glass like conditions on the water as we hit top speed of just under 50km/hr and the only ripples coming in the form of lures hitting the water. Hardly another soul in sight and Nice and peace and quiet!!!
Whoever says winter fishing sucks really need to rethink their options..
Would do it again in a heartbeat, the Fish were Just a Bonus!!!
