First trip to Docklands coming

Post by ChrisD » Fri Feb 05, 2016 11:04 am

Well going right outside my comfort zone tonight and hoping to get to North Wharf.....so long as my daughter programs the GPS correctly and I don't get lost :) Will be my first trip there, so huge learning curve to come.
The plan will be to see what Bream are there - garden worms, chicken, Cranker Crab and HB's...........
Just in case the bream run and hide - might even grab some prawns and see what else might bite.
Is there any last minute tips anyone can offer?

Fish light for bream. They aren't at the bottom most of the time when it's hot so prawn (or bread!) on a light jig head 1/12 to 1/16oz should get you a few.

Also there's no need to cast out. Straight down next to the pylons is where they usually hang around.

I'm going tonight for a bit so I'll let you know how i go. Im just flicking lures though doing some testing

Is north wharf the continuation of Collins st? The end is right near the bolte? If so I've fished there a few times with lures n had no luck but plenty of blokes out there bait fishing n got a few. What bait I'm in sure but good luck! Also plenty of mullet there aswell
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

Anywhere from the end of collins back towards ethihad stadium. Reckon you are in with a chance of pinkies as well.

Got a trevally first cast around 25-28cm, a mini sambo, and 2 big flatties around 40-50cm. From about 6-7. I'll post up some pics tonight

Saw a few bream caught. Hooked up a few i think but dropped them...
