Digit's Fall?

Post by ChrisD » Thu Feb 11, 2016 9:26 am

Has anyone ever fished right at Digits Falls? and if so what was access to the river actually like?
Been thinking it is worth a possible try both above and below the falls, but would hate to get in there and find that bank access is rubbish and it is a wasted trip before I even get a line in the water.

Access isn't too bad. I've never fished there though. There are a couple of good photospheres on google earth where you can check out spots.

Thanks Dougie
Yeap already done the google thing, just find sometimes it doesn't give a clear view on just how step the banks are etc. Always good to have some first hand knowledge.
Will have to see how the next couple of weeks go and trek down there and see how it goes.....figure it is worth at least two trips....one above the falls and one below.

I've never fished below the falls but above it around merri creek acces ain't too bad could b better could b worse n there's quite a lot of carp around there (merri creek is chock full of em) I think I remember reading on here somewhere that bream can be caught right up to the falls but can't say for sure
If I'm not fishing, I'd rather be fishing!

Access is good. Know of Bass, Carp, Redfin and once stung a 15lb Yellowbelly with electrofishing gear when doing a survey for Melb Water. Any amount of misc fish as the Yarra appears to be a common dumping ground for all sorts of fish

In spring the smelt and galaxious fish school up and hang around the fish ladder and any overflow at the base. Years ago i caught heaps of big reddies, a big trout and a macquarie perch there.

I really do have to get down there and try my luck - age old problem - too many places to try and not enough time to try them all.
Will have to get there before end of this year
