Metro Flattie

Post by sloth » Thu Jul 07, 2016 1:13 pm

Bit of bream bycatch but fun none the less ... Got my pb flattie from the Yarra. Nothing significant in terms of size but definitely the best I've pulled out of a metro river.

Snaffled a soft plastic slowly worked along the bottom along the edge of a wall. Would have been a nice couple of fillets ...... If you didn't see where it got pulled from ;)

Quick measure and back in to terrorise the bait fish.

That's a great size for the area  , I've been told not to eat anything from the Yarra ,Maribyrnong, Docklands area but was wondering though if its ok for fish caught around the Warmies outlet and Williamstown piers??

Hmmm ... Haven't really kept tabs on my pb on for flatties .... Probably in the high thirties maybe ? Seem to get a fair few in that mid 20 to mid 30 range over winter ... Probably mainly due to the fact in winter I tend to fish the bottom a lot more than during summer.
