You can get them up to a couple of kilos (sometimes more) off the beach at Yeerung and Corringle in the east, depending on the temperature of the currents sweeping the coast.

Yes, I was surprised to catch a decent sized one back in winter during the run of pinkies:

Thanks, Lighningx! I got lucky I guess - I hit one of those rare patches over four nights where everything came together - tide, time, location. On the first night, I only managed one fish, but it was around a kilo. Then over the next three nights, I was getting a hit every cast and had to leave them biting. Each night I came away with a similar bag.

Thanks bro. that was my first time catching tailor. how big can these fellas grow?
they can grow to 8 to 10kg and over a metre long but in Vic they are not found that size the largest I have heard of people catching is in west Australia around the 8kg mark
woah 8 kg of that aggressive fish would make the drag scream. but in victoria, are they getting bigger in Summer?

Looks so good! We used to catch Tailor out of the surf up the Gold Coast. Good size to em and a bloody challenge in the surf. Just loved it!!
