Docklands 7-9-18

Post by Sinsemilla » Mon Sep 10, 2018 11:01 am

Had a quick after work session on Friday. Was pretty slow to begin but once the sun went down the bites started coming in. Dropped a few and landed a couple Pinkies. Also got a nice bream which was a PB for me at Docklands.

I got the fish on the 2.5inch Zman motor oil grub.

Cheers, Anth

I'm on a mission this year to target bream a bit more and get a few out of the maribyrnong river walking the banks on hard bodies and cranka crabs. We should tee up a session one day

Are the fish ok to eat yet? (that Laverton fire did some damage & I noticed a 'do not swim due to faecal matter' sign at the beach yesterday)

Not sure but i wouldn't eat any fish from docklands anyway. Especially the bream.

I've been inspired by this bloke Paul Malov on youtube. He fishes for bream around Vic and i came across the Maribyrnong vids he has made. Can't wait to get into it

Thats what I do! :) :-D

Live close to the nong. Just have to fish the high tide periods , when the fish are up closer to the bank.
An Sx40 works fairly well for me, I find the plastics get snagged too often when fishing landbased, unless you go 1/40oz and let it float back with the current.

Cranka Crabs are great, but after i got busted off the first time i tied one on, i decided not to throw them landbased.

Anywhere around Anglers Tavern, give me a shout and ill head down. Usually can combine , walking the dog and catching bream.
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

You’re doing well down there mate!
Nice work once again. You’re making me itchy to want to give it a go down there looking at all these nice size pinkies on plastics lol
