Thinking of going down docklands tomorrow but where??
Hey everyone. I often read reports on fishing down at the docklands but i dont know where everyone is going. Im thinking of going down tomorrow arvo/evening im just wondering where to go and what baits best??
I went down to gunnamatta yesterday, i got peanuts but my brother landed 3 good sized salmon. It was very windy down there tho.
Cheers everyone

The main reason me and Abu go is that it is easily accessible by public transport, we usually fish near the woolshed pub, infront of the etihad.
7 hooks, no bait, 7 fish.

Ok nice one. Ill be driving down but i think i know where u mean. Do u just cast in between the boats?

I been there quite alot. I think all over the area is good.
When i usually go there, i use two 3.6ft ugly stick rods. Because it is so much more convenient to drop it right infront of you than a 6 ft rod.
In terms of bait. I think prawn is the best bait, Unless you can get yabbies. Somtimes chopping the snips of the yabbies can catch you heaps more.
I drop it, right under me next to the pylons.

Are there any spots at the docklands that you can park your car right next to the fishing spot? Would love to find a good spot that is not crowded and easily accessible to take the kids fishing.

I find pilchards the best over there, catches everything, last time i tried prawns didn't get a bite. I just drop my line straight down, fish the area in front of the tram, here is a photo of where i fish off.

Yes, quite a few, but end of North Wharfe is the main one. There are toilets, water etc. Great for the kids, just watch the edge of the wharfe. 10m water around there. Some people set up with rods sitting on their cars etc. I am down there tomorrow some time. I move around heaps though.shazzagraz wrote:Are there any spots at the docklands that you can park your car right next to the fishing spot? Hi,i don't disagree with any of the baits already mentioned, but please do not dismiss garden worms, which are pretty easy to get this time of year, the only cost is to spend 10-20mins of your time to dig a few up,cheer's Murph....
3p's will catch you fish,patients,perserverence,persistance....

bread, chicken and maccas chips also works. them bream are dumb and will eat almost anything.
mussel is the best bait there by far if targeting bream, otherwise pilchard comes a close second because it will also get you onto some pinkies, trevs or jewies if you're really lucky.
