Which brings us to the Carp Cull at Coburg on 13th Oct.
Has it been decided what we will do with the catch?
To find a fish
You do the miles.
Catch the fish
and earn the smiles.

Lord, allow me to catch a fish, so large that even I,when speaking of it afterwards.........May have no need to lie !!!

Well, they sell them there for 3-5 bucks a kilo, so I figured they may be a market for them at the market.

Just start yelling " fresh fish 2 dolla!" and they'll go like hotcakes... :nicefish!:

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

How about I call the council back & let them know that they will need to empty the bins on the Monday.

That should work. They were pretty helpful when I asked their permission to fish there.

So folks, what's your favourite carp bait?

Corn, dough, a piece of rag, kfc chips.....

I always found when actually fishing for carp that making a dough mix and then mixing cotton wool worked well it helps keep the bait on the hook much longer

CanuckDownUnder wrote:ha! I live in Coburg but I never would have imagined that lake even held Carp...they can be fun, I wouldn't consider them a real fighting fish (relative to other species) but they can be a good go.

The plus side is, any wife/girlfriend will be happy to sit by Coburg Lake and read a book, play on their phone, etc...getting them to sit on rocks by the ocean with a strong wind blowing is not so easy.
how do you get the wife and girlfriend to sit together to play on phone or read a book? haha
