If it were me I'd be putting my bait/lure as close to those trees/snags you can see in the river. Bream likes snags more than fat guys like sausages.

I've taken good sized bream consistently at both the jetty and rock wall at the end of Duncan's road fishing with 1/8 size jig head on 12 pound leader and using worm tail plastics, they absolutely love them I'd highly recommend. Throw a running sinker on the rig and dip it lower and the flatties will smash them also. I took an 80cm flatty and three good sized bream in two hours fishing there a few weeks back. No big casting, just around the jetty pylons.

Have you got a photo of your 80cm flathead. That's an absolute monster for the bay

80 cm on plastics, what a beast! Must be more than 4kg? Pics would be nice!

10lb is pretty heavy for bream in my opinion. I normally bream with 4lb. Go to 6lb if I'm around heavy structure like docks. Try going lighter - can mean more bites ....

that's a great flatty 80 cm !!

the biggest ive caught this year is a 54cm fishing just inside the werrible river.

ive got a pic buts its really that special as a 80 cm
