Re: Altona
Not flushing it once wont hurt it.. but always good to flush it after every use in saltwater!

Re: Altona
Yea the attachment piece was stuffed and I had another one but that was stuffed too so I was about to go without flushing which I really didn’t want to do but last minute my mate pulled a piece out of the attachment piece which allowed the water to flow and finally I could flush the outboard.
Nothing to report from today’s short trip but dramas
Hopefully something better to report next week

Re: Altona
After taking a walk on Altona pier yesterday afternoon and seeing the water clarity has dramatically improved I decided it was time after a month to go out and try bag a couple of cali's.
First spot I went to was around the shallow reef off the raaf base, a couple of drifts with nothing. Then i decided to move to the trusty squid grounds around the marine park, I spent at least 30 minutes with nothing again. Thinking I was in for donuts I decided to head back towards the ramp and maybe try a couple of plastics around the red stick. On my way back I saw a bunch of boats in front of apex beach, naturally I decided to take a detour and see what all the fuss was about. After my first drift I had 3 cali's in the boat, the second drift also produced another 3 which were all decent size.
It started to get cold so i headed back in with my 6, all in all a nice afternoon out with a handful of nice fish.
From experience generally when the squid turn off they are off everywhere, thankfully it wasn't the case yesterday.
(will post pictures when I work out how to upload them)

I was out yesterday near that red stick as well. Plenty of boats around but I didn’t see many being caught. We got a few pinkies and saw the guy next to us pull up a few as well but that’s about it.

Re: Altona
I pulled up to the red stick on the way back and thought I might give it a crack, there were about 5 boats kissing each other. Did you get any legal ones mate?
