Netters at it again

Post by Buckle&scream » Wed Feb 10, 2016 9:59 am

Heared from 2 people yeaterday that the netters have taken 3.5tones of whiting this week, they are older guys in there 60s and 1 knows the commercial netter directly, no wonder the whiting have gone a bit quite around Altona and point cook not sure how Werribee south and kirks is ATM hopefully the netters haven't hit there as well, squid are in big numbers atm saw plenty of guys drifting past me cleaning up on the squid on the whiting grounds. And plenty big squid getting leaned at the cleaning tables.

It's their flippin job, so I don't know why people say "netters at it again"

Like it's a surprise or something.
And of course they will be netting kirks, point cook, they always go to the regular areas

I thought it's the right thing to do to inform each other of what's going on out there so people with boats aren't wasteing there time. As for the heading i was gonna just right netters but thought I'll make it a bit dramatic and say netters at it again haha I know its there living they have all the right to do it but we also have the right to know where there been and to inform other fishos. But all good i won't say nothing about were they are anymore :)

Shouldn't be too long before they're gone, the compensation is weighted to encourage an early exist rather than holding out until the last minute. Until then it is what it is, fish Westernport if it's a problem.

If your could get a g.p.s of exactly where they netted, now that would be handy before heading out for a fish on the bay

Ofcourse they're smashing as many Whiting as they can. Licence renewal is April so those having their livelihood destroyed are going to target as many of the highest priced fish they can until then.

You think they'd give 2 ***** a few seasons might be tough for recs because they went twice as hard as usual?
