Re: PPB swell - please explain
One morning I checked the wind before heading out and it was at about 7 km's/hr. I launched in complete darkness and headed out of the Patterson river only to be confronted with at least metre waves.
Waves on PPB are created by the wind, and it is the wind that gives the waves their energy, however as the wind dies down, it takes time for the energy in the waves to dissipate. So strong wind can whip up some decent sized waves, that will travel across the bay until they hit the shore.

It’s aleays rough coming out of Werribee but when I head out towards Williamstown it dies down slightly. I try to ride on an angle over the rolls to stop the rough ride. Sometimes I just wish the bay would be smooth so it’s more enjoyable
