got down to Ferguson street pier yesterday and today and gave two solid goes on the soft plastics and came up doughnuts. Seems to be running super slow at the moment. I was mainly targeting flathead but didn't get a bite at all, at the end of autumn it was going really well but the last couple weeks its been really hard going. Have you dawgs noticed its been running super slow and/or is this a normal thing this time of year for land based fishing on this side of town?

What do you mean running low? It sounds like you were fishing low tide which might be why you didn't have any success

nah i was there just before high tide then fished until the tide was running out. i meant slow like not many bites, just interested to see if any other land based dawgs were finding the going a bit tough

Depends on what you're target species is. Flatheat thin out this time of year as they are less active. Salmon are in good numbers as are Squid. Until grand final weekend when a few snapper roll in that's what you can target with sucess

Rad thanks m8. When do the flathead normally start biting again, Same time as snapper I suppose? Moved around a fair bit today to try and find some salmon but didn’t track any down. Ain’t gonna stop me trying brah

Once the water warms a degree or two. Doesn't take much

i've been trying to track the salmons down on the piers but not getting much luck. should probably drive the extra 30 mins and hit the surf beaches. thanks for the heads up brother.
