Campbells Cove Pinky Frenzy ( Video )

Post by thebigal_au » Thu Dec 27, 2018 10:48 am

Video Link - https://youtu.be/Odf1TxNtb4w

I had a kayak fishing session at Campbells Cove a couple of days ago, that turned into a Pinkie frenzy.
Using curl tail soft plastics, Savage Gear 6cm fat curl tail in Blood UV and Motor oil UV, 1/8 jig, Plus a rod with bait I managed 25 pinkies, 1 flathead and 1 snook in 3 hours, before the conditions chopped up.

Please have a look at the vide. I hope you enjoy it, please remember to sub to the channel.

Best Regards Alan Bonnici

Good stuff.
I recently purchased a kayak, haven't tried Campbell's Cove (and i live in point cook :( ). Where do you launch the kayak? And how far out?
I'm a noob kayak fisho.
Thanks.

Straight off the beach at the car park. Fish anywhere in front. If you are up to it you can head over to the RAAF other side of the old pier. Need a sounder for this area.

Another point Cook launch is from the beach car park at the coastal park. About 100m easy trolley to beach, biggest issue is gates dont open till 8.30. Flatties in front, and closer access to squid/whiting/pinky grounds at RAAF reef.

Just watch onshore (easterly) winds in this area especially at low tide which can create awkward shore dumping waves on the flat beach.
