Wedge Spit help needed

Post by M9085 » Sun Jan 06, 2019 12:58 pm

Hi Gents,
Can someone please let me know, where would be the easiest entry point into wedge spit area?
Thinking of taking the kayak down and trying to get few Tings on Tuesday.
Truth be told I don’t even know where spit wedge is, but reading few reports lately make me want to go down and have a little play. Thanks in advance for any helpful info.
Cheers

I take the kayak down there a bit. But I dont mind a journey. Closest is werribee south, about 5km. kirks is about 6kms.

Alternative is Kirks ramp with the weed beds between long reef and little river outlet being closer

back beach launch art kirks is also good, which gives access to the area between kirks and Arthur the great spit, but the track is getting a bit chewed up and best left to 4wd.

Another yak friendly spots is directly out the front of avalon beach ramp upto to bird rock.

These are all good squid and whiting grounds

Thanks heaps, 5 or 6 K puddle Id better take a life support system, and two days food supply.
I will definitely explore the area.
I was hoping for a maiden voyage tomorrow morning..... but it may not happen as work is bombarding me with juicy jobs. If the winds stay kind in the arvo I might do it then
