i dont think they are from the same family as a luderick , i read somewhere that the morwongs up in the states a type of morwong anyway,.. can be called snapper or sweetlips or the jackass morwong lol

Apparently in Portland they fish for the Blue Queen Morwong and they say it is much beter eating than the Dusky Morwong, or Butterfish as the used to have it in the DPI handbook. As for family match to Luderick definitely not.

Also vinhii I hope thats not a port jackson shark you speared in the head, you know they are protected right?

Not rare at all port Phillip is full of them they are weed eaters very common in Vic waters up to a kg not to bad to eat any bigger not to good .

for the record guys i didnt tag this jackson lol.. my mate did.. he accidently thought it was adiff fish.. he hit it once and injured it then realized it was a jackson but it was too late so he tagged it... many people over the years of i been fishing ive seen people take jacksons home to eat.. duno if they taste any good lol

You think? I dive a lot and have eaten a few over the years and think they are very average eating, very soft and mushy.

I don't spear them because I think they are average eating and also because they are not a challenge to spear: they just sit there looking at you. You could almost get them with a fork.
