one in a million chance of catching snapper

Post by Fish-cador » Sun May 13, 2018 12:27 pm

went out last night with a friend. It was windy so having a bit of slack line was expected . I noticed that one of my rods had its line piled up in the rocks. something must have dragged my terminal tackle towards my rod. Whatever it was, i was sure it was something with power as i was using 4oz sinker on snaggy area. I was unable to recover my line and it eventually broke as it was all tangled up with the barnacles. Fast forward 30 minutes, we packed up. As i was winding up the line from my other rod, i felt some weight. It was dead weight at first then i felt some movement. I thought it was banjo. Seconds later i saw the red shadow. I managed to land the fish. To my surprise, there were 2 sinkers and an extra set of snelled hooks dangling. Those were both my tackles. I then realised that the extra rig was from the line that broke earlier. The sinker that the fish was dragging around got tangled with my other mainline. I must be very fortunate last night. The only thing that held the fish was a single wrap between the sinker dropper and my main line. Very unlucky fish!

60 cm snapper! It's the biggest one on the photo.

I am buying lotto ticket!!!

Any other stories out there?

One of my bigger salmon have come.like that. Salmon had someone else surf rig hanging off its mouth and it got stuck on my line . After a bit of running up and down the beach I finally landed it. Surf rig sinker was stuck on my hook
