Interesting Afternoon at Princes Pier

So I decided to try Princes pier around 10:20am on Sunday 18th, on an incoming tide.
I have recently tooled up with new rod, reel etc for fishing soft plastics after watching videos on this forum.
Twenty mins into my fish I connected with a Snook (sea pike), whatever you call it here, ten mins later a small salmon, I was then smashed by a large trevally which somehow managed to grab the tail of my soft plastic and shake it but not hook up. Various Bream rushed out to take a look but no takers.
All in all I had a fun 2.5hrs hrs or so and have renewed faith in soft plastics after a few blanks elsewhere.

Sounds like not a bad little session mate.
I’ve encountered some massive pike there. Just too heavy to lift up with my light gear!
Nice work

Yes it was a good little session, it just proves if the fish are there they will attack the plastics.
It was good to see so many different species too.
Cheers for the comments :-D

Thanks for the report! Caught my first fish on SP at princess pier many moons ago. Like yourself, was also a silver trevally! Silver trevally have a soft mouth, unlike snapper/flathead/salmon etc, and they also fight hard so you have to be careful not to exert too much pressure or you can pull the hooks.
