Princes Pier re-visit
So I returned to the same area of Princes pier.
What can I say, the bloody incessant wind that plagues Melbourne wasted the day, too cold, water murky and no sign of the fish activity I mentioned the week before.
I flogged the water with four different soft plastics, not even a touch.
Oh well you can't win them all, there's always next week. :water:

Re: Princes Pier re-visit
Murky water is always a bad sign when fishing plastics. Try vibes or hard bodies in those conditions (if not bait). Anything that has a good wiggle on it will generate interest from fish that can fell the vibration in the water. I usually catch less in dirty water but what I do catch is often bigger and of less expected species. Also, try fishing shallow in dirty water (especially on shore winds) with surface lures fished in a slow, jerky fashion as many species will take advantage of the camouflage the murk provides to come in shallow. The shadow created by the lure through the water as well as the action on the surface is more important than the colour of the lure in this situation.
