Post by Fisho87 » Fri Aug 07, 2015 12:06 pm

Hi all first time post so please forgive me if it's terrible.
Me and the missus fished Patterson lakes early this morning from 5am till around 10am using light gear and chicken fillet on a paternoster....tried from the pontoon and close to the bridge, didn't manage to get a fish although the girlfriend got quite afew decent bites my line was untouched
Weather wasn't great either
Thinking of heading to hastings pier tomorrow any advice would be muchly appreciated guys thanks :-D

Welcome to the site.
I've personally never caught anything from patto. But have heard and seen some fish under the main bridge.

Mullet are around I hear. Also try prawns for bream. I've seen people run a net along the algae on the pontoons and use the shrimp they catch as bait too

I have had a few bream from the Patterson Lakes - it is heavily fished and they are very wary.
Incoming tide is the best bet.

Incoming tide right next to the bridge at dusk near the lights, small hooks with a bit of peel prawn will get u on some small bream. Getting a sized bream at the patto has proven difficult :fish22:
You know what you'd rather be doinnnn
